VVI Question
Some Probable
questions Introduction to Information Technology
1.
What is cellular
network? Explain 2G, 2.5 G, 3G ,4G and 5G.
Cellular Network:
A cellular network
is a mobile network that provides services
by using a large number
of base stations
with limited power,
each covering only a limited
area. This area is called a
cell.
2G: The 2G telephone technology introduced call and text encryption,
along with data services such as SMS,
picture messages, and MMS. Although 2G replaced 1G and is superseded by later technology versions,
it's still used around the world. The maximum
speed of 2G with General
Packet Radio Service (GPRS) is 50 Kbps.
2.5G: It is an upgraded version of 2G. 2.5G implements packet switching
along with the circuit switching in
2G. 2.5G has much faster data rates than 2G. It allows limited web browsing
while 2G does not.
•
3G:
It is also known as UMTS(Universal Mobile Telecommunications
System) is a third generation mobile
cellular system for networks based on the GSM standard. It is for voice and data transmission. Developed and maintained by the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project). 3G has
Multimedia services support along with streaming are more popular.
•
4G:
Commonly marketed as 4G LTE(LonG Term Evolution). It is the
next level after 3G UMTS Technology. It is based on the GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA network
technologies. It has high speed of the file upload and download. Ultra
high speed internet access- E-mail or general web browsing is
available.
•
5G: 5G is a generation currently under development , that's intended
to improve on 4G.
5G
promises significantly faster data rates,
higher connection density, much lower latency, among other improvements. Some of the plans for 5G include device-to- device
communication,
better battery consumption, and improved overall
wireless coverage. The max speed of
5G is aimed at being as fast
as 35.46 Gbps , which is
over 35 times
faster than 4G.
2.
What is network topology? Describe the different types of network
topology.
LAN topology/Network Topology describes the manner in which nodes and network devices
on the network are connected
with cables and how they communicate. So, it is the cabling
pattern/arrangement of computers/nodes
in a network.
It gives a shape of the network.
Or Topology defines the structure of the network of how all the components are interconnected to each other.
Bus Topology: Bus topology also linear topology is the kind of network topology where every node, i.e. every device on the network, is connected to a solo main cable line. Data is transmitted in a single route, from one point to the other.
Advantages:
§ It is easier to implement and extend
§ Requires the least amount
of cable to connect the computers and less expensive Disadvantages:
§ A cable
break can disable the entire network
§ Finding error or
fault is not easy in the
Bus topology
